Amazing storytelling. Excellent character development (even for minor characters). Probably the best soundtrack ever. Top notch animation. Whatever.

Re: Greatest Anime
I never got into it, but Cowboy Bebop seems widely beloved.

Re: Greatest Anime
I didn't get into Cowboy Bebop either. It looked boring.
As of right now, I'm just getting into Rave Master (the Manga). It reminds me alot of the weirdness I see in One Piece which is a major plus.

Re: Greatest Anime
So Hollywood just got rights to make their own live-action Death Note movie. Warner Brothers producing with Charley and Vlas Parlapanides doing the screenplay.
There are three Japanese live action Death Note movies already, but I didn't like any of them that much.

Re: Greatest Anime
Why does Hollywood have to make my country look dumb by making horrible remakes of great foreign films?

Re: Greatest Anime
You know what? I am going to change my 2nd prize from The Boondocks to Ghost in the shell: Stand Alone Complex. In fact, I am debating which is better; Death Note or SAC.

Re: Greatest Anime
I watched the first two episodes of GitS and was like, WTF just happened?!? That was like two years ago though. Then I tried to watch the sequel by accident and got even more mind****ed.
I should try to watch that again now that I'm a little older.

I really like Stand Alone Complex. I'll toss that in as my #2 as well. Death Note a close third.Zezima wrote:You know what? I am going to change my 2nd prize from The Boondocks to Ghost in the shell: Stand Alone Complex. In fact, I am debating which is better; Death Note or SAC.

Re: Greatest Anime
Shaman King. I only watched the first 15 episodes in its original run because I had lost track of it, but I decided to buy the whole series off Ioffer. I regret now not watching it originally. I love the story, the characters are interesting, and the general concept is entertaining.

Re: Greatest Anime
Here's my favorite Anime in no particular order:
FLCL
Excel Saga
One Piece
Soul Eater
Death Note
Clannad
Shaman King
Rurouni Kenshin
YuYu Hakusho
Oh, and I'm also a fan of Hayao Miyazaki's films (Howl's moving castle, Sprited Away, etc.).

I can handle you guys talking about animes that actually have names in English, but it ends there.
Of course, I'm just being a self righteous b*tch, so there you go.
Maybe I just don't like people knowing things that I don't.
(those last two movies are incredible though, I saw them in theater)
