Nothing suggests that specifically, he can use all of his powers, including that Dynasty Warriors level snowplow-dash he did at the end of SNG, without any Chaos Emeralds, they just make him even stronger.

I suppose so, just not as well as Knux can. Shad is pretty notorious for being overpowered and having a bunch of the other character's abilities.

If he can sense the energy of the Emeralds from a distance and doesn't even need to be in direct physical contact with one, it explains why some cutscenes show him using his abilties without an emerald in hand. I believe that, while he doesn't NEED to use an emerald, it is easier for him to use his ablities when he does have one in hand.
And as for him being "overpowered"...what else do you expect from a character that's supposed to be the "Ultimate Lifeform"?

I don't think so. I was actually expecting more from a title like the ultimate life-form. Not saying what Shadow has now isn't enough though.

I would say yes. He found the one in the Federal Reserve Bank, he found Rouge in the safe, he found out where Sonic was with his fake emerald, he found the emeralds in the volcano, etc and whatevera. So yeah, I think he can. After all, if Knux, Rouge, Tikal, and Chaos can, he should be able to too.
