I found an easy way to get the Chaos and Super Emeralds in S3&K in Sonic Mega Collection. Complete a file, then pick a stage, as a cleared allows you to do, find the special stage rings in the two acts, and attempted to get the emeralds. Then Save and Quit and repeat until you have them all.

Yeah it is difficult. Especially when you get to the Super Emerald stages. I only have two of them.:(
