Well, according to one of the RetroHack banners in the main page, "Incest is ok when you're with TSC."

Yeah, well. Honestly, I never really saw incest as wrong anyway. Given that "but my (closely related family member here)'s icky!" is easily trumped by words so eloquent as "you can't control who you love," there's no real philosophical aspect to it. The only argument against it is biological, really. And even that's largely a crock of shit.

On the small scale, unless you're already inbred as hell -- Which only really happens unless you're a member of a long-standing and severely circuitous family line in a place where there are so few people, it's hard to find anyone who's not family. -- it's not likely to do much harm to any kids, if one in such a relationship would even want to have kids. Contraception exists, so that's an option largely severed from whatever euphemism or hilariously out-of-context quote I'd put here as an example if I could think of one off-hand.

And on the large scale, any argument about gene pool pollution is like saying, "You let a single drop of urine into an ocean of piss! You've doomed us all!" The human race will be fine. Or, rather, it'll be no worse off with a couple extra incest-born children than otherwise, with all the people who are already screwed up for various reasons, including but by no means limited to incest or even anything genetic in general.

There are natural mental defenses against incestuous tendencies in the human psychology from back when such things mattered all that much, so the majority of people will find an unrelated spouse, even if only because they don't very much like their immediate family anyway. The gene pool will be clean enough, given that there are 7 billion humans on this big ball of crap.

And good gods, I've been rambling a lot lately about unimportant things, seems like. I could write a blog, if I were shameless.
