2K has announced that its latest installment of Major League Baseball has made the game mechanics more realistic, meaning a whole new MLB experience. Since their MLB games have been one reason the company has been slipping, 2K has also tagged a challenge to all gamers who purchase the game. The first person to throw a perfect game wins $1,000,000. For those who don't know what I'm talking about, a perfect game in baseball is when a pitcher does not let any batters get on base for the whole game. No walks, no hits, no runs, no beanballs. This challenge is only valid on a copy of the game for XBox 360 or PlayStation3. The challenge begins on March 2, the day of the release of MLB2K10, and ends on May 1 11:59 PM PDT or when a submission for a perfect game has been verified, whichever comes first. To compete, first off, you must be 18 or older and a legal resident of the District of Columbia or the 50 United States, with the exception of Arizona, Connecticut, Maryland, North Dakota, and Vermont, where this contest is void and wherever else the challenge is prohibited. You must go to MLB Today mode, select any available matchup, then choose the option to partake in the "Major League Baseball 2K10 Challenge." The game will then automatically set the options to contest standards. All entries must be recorded via camera or digital video recorded in compliance with the Official Rules set by 2K. Once you have your recording, you must put it on a DVD since 2K will only accept DVD recordings. To prevent fraud of an entry, Twin Galaxies, the #1 authority of video game world records, will be on hand to verify a game. When either the clock hits midnight on the West Coast May 1 or when a winner is declared, the contest will end and no other entries will be accepted.
So all who are interested and comply with all pre-entry requirements, be on the lookout for Major League Baseball 2K10 when it hits stores March 2nd or pre-order and save yourself the hassle.
