    Attention Gamers!! Empty Attention Gamers!!

    Post by Mario94 February 6th 2010, 4:22 pm

2K has announced that its latest installment of Major League Baseball has made the game mechanics more realistic, meaning a whole new MLB experience. Since their MLB games have been one reason the company has been slipping, 2K has also tagged a challenge to all gamers who purchase the game. The first person to throw a perfect game wins $1,000,000. For those who don't know what I'm talking about, a perfect game in baseball is when a pitcher does not let any batters get on base for the whole game. No walks, no hits, no runs, no beanballs. This challenge is only valid on a copy of the game for XBox 360 or PlayStation3. The challenge begins on March 2, the day of the release of MLB2K10, and ends on May 1 11:59 PM PDT or when a submission for a perfect game has been verified, whichever comes first. To compete, first off, you must be 18 or older and a legal resident of the District of Columbia or the 50 United States, with the exception of Arizona, Connecticut, Maryland, North Dakota, and Vermont, where this contest is void and wherever else the challenge is prohibited. You must go to MLB Today mode, select any available matchup, then choose the option to partake in the "Major League Baseball 2K10 Challenge." The game will then automatically set the options to contest standards. All entries must be recorded via camera or digital video recorded in compliance with the Official Rules set by 2K. Once you have your recording, you must put it on a DVD since 2K will only accept DVD recordings. To prevent fraud of an entry, Twin Galaxies, the #1 authority of video game world records, will be on hand to verify a game. When either the clock hits midnight on the West Coast May 1 or when a winner is declared, the contest will end and no other entries will be accepted.

So all who are interested and comply with all pre-entry requirements, be on the lookout for Major League Baseball 2K10 when it hits stores March 2nd or pre-order and save yourself the hassle.

Yep. But I'll bet someone will stay up long enough and finally get it and send their recording in on March 3rd.

And then they sue 2K for false advertisement and get their million dollar prize. The only way they can slant it is to make the difficulty level as high as possible, which they likely will.

Update on the contest! The official rules are up on the 2K website, and the contest is still going. There is also a printable checklist to make sure you have a valid entry. Here are the items (from the 2K website):

    Registration
-You must be 18 or older
-You must be a legal US resident, excluding the states of Arizona, Connecticut, North Dakota, or Vermont
-You must be the registered holder of the XBox Live Gamertag or PlayStation Network account used to pitch the perfect game

    Recording

-Recording must begin at least 5 seconds prior to turning on your television and your XBox 360 or PlayStation3, show the full boot-up sequence, and show you logged on to XBox Live or PlayStation Network
-Recording must be clear enough so it shows the text and button icons on the contest screen so that it is legible.
-Recording must be uninterrupted throughout the entire game.
-Upon completion of a Perfect Game, a code will appear on the screen. The recording must continue until the code is displayed on the screen and the quality is high enough so that it shows legibly.
-The recording must be on DVD. Make 2 copies: one to send in and one for your own personal records. Only physical copies will be accepted.

    Gameplay

-You must be online and logged onto XBox Live or PlayStation Network.
-You must play the game in the MLB 2K10 Contest mode in MLB Today, which will set the difficulty at All-Star.
-You must use the pitcher scheduled to start that day.
-No pauses or interruptions of the game at any time are permitted.
-A game is considered Perfect when the player's team doesn't allow any hits, defensive errors, or letting someone reach base on defense without a pitching substitutions, mound visits, pauses, or delays of game lasting longer than 60 seconds between pitches.
-You must use Total Control Pitching and Total Control Hitting, which is automatically set when you enter.
-You must win following the above rules even if the game goes into extra innings.

    Verification

-Once you complete a Perfect Game, you must IMMEDIATELY input your physical mailing address where the Perfect Game was pitched, home address (if different from mailing address), phone number, legal name, date of birth, and email address and the verification code at www.2ksports.com/perfectgame.
-The entry must be received within 7 calendar days of the day the Perfect Game took place.

If you do meet all of these requirements, congratulations! If not, then there are millions of others who have also fallen short.
