Yup, Sonic is dead.

I was getting my hopes up that Sega will finally correct the series with Sonic 4. But now there is no hope for the series.

You said that if Sonic 4 would have fixed the series

i don't think anything is wrong with it, it's like a cross between unleased, rush and the classic games from what i read, with some fancy aliens, besides, it's to early to say it's down right crap/good, i'm still keeping an open mind with this one

I will say this, however. If this game is Sonic the whole time with no gimmicks, then I will be very happy.

It doesn't sound that bad. Either way, even if it is bad, it wouldn't mean Sonic 4 will automatically be bad...

Why? The Sonic Cycle only applies to like three or four games.

There's some weird choice of platform. One console and one portable device.. I just wonder how the game will look like.

That really comes down to what you've been asking for from the series. I doubt any game will satisfy everyone. Someone will always not like it.

And just with the already reveal of the color ability gimmick, I can guarantee there will be a good amount of people who don't like it.

Hmm, I think that "Sonic Colors" might turn out to be just a temp name, similar to "Sonic Wildfire" (which became Secret Rings).

The idea of charging Sonic with a different kind of energy sounds intriguing, I've seen different kinds of weapons and power-ups in play in several different games, including Ikaruga and Zero Wing, but I fear that in this case, there may be specific kinds of power-ups needed to negotiate certain obstacles, and switching between them might potentially be irritating (unless it's simply one at a time and can be quickly used at the right time).

Until then, let's just wait for something a little more than just a synopsis and a teaser. I'm pretty sure the official name will change soon.

Really? I thought they changed its name due to copyright issues. Oh well.

To be honest, I don't like this cutesy approach to it, but I wonder what other alien powers Sonic could have. But other than that, I have no Idea what the game is going to be like.

I like the new approach, I hope it's all colourful!
