I think the current one looks quite good, but no reason why couldn't have both, then users can pick which they prefer?

The blue checkers look nice. The black ones are very cool, but the blue checkers add to the "sonicy" feeling.

In case anyone is confused, this isn't about the checkered background, this is about the site background color, which is universally black at the moment.

Sorry, I misunderstood.
Usually on websites, the main body is colored with a shade of gray (shades of gray including white and black).
Having the forum body in blue will look very weird, in my opinion.

I agree, plus the way this skin set up with it's table colors, you can barely see the background.
Either way, this forum is full of black and theres barely any graphical areas of the forum skin.
And I'm saying this compared to my skin as it has more variety in graphics.
Zez, I'm the guy when it comes to designing skins, after all I am a professional graphic designer as I am working on a AS degree in it.

If we still had the Skin Selector, we might be able to get an idea of what blue looks like. But no, leave it black. It saves Watt hours.

The skin selector is very hard to do on forumotion boards.
The only forum I know that managed to code a skin selector on forumotion, is Tizo from The Sonic Family.
Heck, I am a professional graphic/web designer and I myself still have trouble coding the skin selector.
