Doesn't have to be a walkthrough or anything, I'd just want to know what stages there are and whatnot. Whatever, I guess I'll just wait until it comes out.

A GameStop store in Germany has broken the European release date for the Nintendo 3DS version of Sonic Generations. SSMB member Thigolf went into the store today to pick up a copy of Super Mario 3D Land and was surprised to find Sonic Generations available to purchase 8 days before its November 25th release. Needless to say, Thigolf snapped up a copy and is playing it right now.
    Sonic Generations - Page 23 Sonic-Generations-3DS-Broken-Street-Date-2
    Sonic Generations - Page 23 Sonic-Generations-3DS-Broken-Street-Date

*The only characters in the game are Sonic, Tails, Eggman and the rivals.
*After you beat the boss (or Green Hill in the first era) youre free to choose which zone and act of the era you wanna do first.
*After you beat the rival of an era, the boss is unlocked
*The rivals are all races like Metal Sonic in Sonic CD and take part in Casino Night, Radical Highway and Tropical Resort
*The Bosses are Big Arm, Biolizard (SA2) and Egg Emperor (Heroes)
*In the Special Stages, you collect the orbs to get the boost and chase the emerald. You have to catch him within 1:30 min.
*Classic Sonic unlocks the homing attack after the classic era, Modern Sonic unlocks the stomp after the Dreamcast era.
*You can find the electric shields from the Advance and Rush games for Classic Sonic
*The missions cost 5 Playcoins each

    Level info:
*The Whale in Classic Emerald Coast destroys the path behind you kind of like the Truck in the HD Version does
*In Modern Emerald Coast, he jumps out of the water and you have to do a little quick time event to make him crash against the wall (poor guy)
*Modern Radical Highway has lots of grinding parts on the bridge
*In Water Palace Classic Sonic needs to activate the switches to make the water pumps, that shoot you up, work (could be gramatically false, sorry) The level also has a bubble maschine that creates bubbles so you can cross holes
*The Back 2 Back remix in the Modern Level seems more funky and has more rock elements
*Classic Tropical Resort seems to be based more on the DS Version of Colors designwise, he also has the DS exclusive Red Wisp and has a Rocket Part at the end where so jump from rocket to rocket before they explode to get up
*Modern Tropical Resort is more based on the Wii Version and has the Cyan Wisp, at the end you grind on rails and you have to avoide falling meteors

Sonic Generations - Page 23 Empty Sonic Generations receives 6.75 by GameInformer Magazine

Post by Nnoitra Hushimo November 23rd 2011, 5:45 pm

So today I got my November 2011 publication of GameInformer Magazine, and I went over to the "Reviews" section and I see "Sonic Generations". Having caught my eye, I started to read and here's what it said:
Sonic Generations aims to bridge the gap between old and new fans by revisiting stages throughout the series with both 2D and 3D gameplay. The result is a timeline that starts out strong and slowly deteriorates, serving as an apt history lesson for the struggling series.

The quest begins with side-scrolling tributes to memorable Genesis-era stages as Classic Sonic. These levels rekindled the magic of being a wide-eyed kid seeing Sonic's world for the first time. Platforming is slightly tighter than in Sonic 4, which makes landing precise jumps easier. Tearing through loop de loops in Green Hill and bouncing across clouds in Sky Sanctuary are among my favorite Sonic moments, and they translate perfectly. Unfortunately, the good times fade when Sonic begins cruising through 2D versions of levels from post-Dreamcast Sonic games. Traversing through the ruins of Crisis City from the awful 2006 Sonic The Hedgehog reboot is an exercise in frustration packed with unfair drop-offs and annoying gales.

Playing as modern 3D Sonic presents the same steady drop in fun. Speeding across double helix pipes and dodging chemical geysers in Chemical Plant makes for some of the best 3D Adventure-styled action the series has seen, but things go south when you break into the last-gen titles. Sonic Unleahsed and Sonic Heroes don't thrill me, and revisiting reworked versions only serves to remind me of how uninspired they are. Legacy issues, like wonky platforming and poorly communicated pitfalls, plague these later levels.

The last half of the game serves only to remind you of how far the series has fallen from it's origional form. I felt smothered by Sonic Team's insistence on shoehorning recent Sonic games, no matter how awful, into the 20-year timeline. Why would Sega pass up full level tributes to Sonic 3 or Sonic CD in favor of a remixed version of a stage from Sonic Colors, which released only a year ago?

At the end of the game, old and new Sonic part ways. As they do, Sonic says to his retro doppleganger, "Hey Sonic, enjoy your future, it's going to be great!" if he only knew. >> Tim Turi

Guys come on people are going to say whatever they want and they're gonna have their opinions on everything. For me i have always loved sonic games old and new no matter what the so called fan-base said. i saw the good and the bad of both ears and i still enjoyed the games. people said Sonic died in 06 ,other said modern sonic games suck compared to the classics.personal just being me i enjoyed Sonic next gen yes it had a lot of problems but it had a lot of potential as well . People say the storyline sucked i enjoyed it. Heck i enjoyed most of the Sonic games. you can say what you wanna about sonic and Sega but i personal enjoy the things they come up with. I look at it from the development/creator/idealist point of view. not saying all their ideas work and very game was great. What i'm saying is Sonic's a free spirit and he's always looking for new adventures and because of that it always takes him to new places, and if you want your character/franchise to grow and get better than you have to try out new things to see what works and what doesn't. Some people understand this, some don't and other create a mental wall and refuse to be open minded to new ideas. that's my personal opinion

Finished Generations recently, and my main complaints have to do with the loose plot, uninspired cutscenes, and wooden dialog. The stages themselves were great for the most part, other than the fact that there weren't enough of them to last more than a day for me.

Still don't agree with how the modern side controls.
