Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure Empty Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure

    Post by Sonamy43 August 5th 2011, 12:55 am

So, are there any Spyro fans out there?

    You know, this little guy?:

    Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure 27zfeky

Well, if so, this is a discussion for the upcoming game, Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure:

    Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure De5pvm

Here's what I know about the game so far:

    NAME: Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure
    GENRE: Action-Adventure
    DEVELOPER: Toys for Bob
    PUBLISHER: Activision
CONFIRMED PLATFORMS: Wii, 3DS, PlayStation 3, XBox 360, and PC.
RELEASE DATE: Targeted for Fall 2011 (Q4), actual release dates not shown
PLAYERS: 1-2 (cooperative, or battle against each other)

    STORY
Players take on the role of a powerful "Portal Master", who can control 30 unique characters, including the purple dragon Spyro (series and the character owned by Activision). Each of them are protectors of their own individual worlds...each of them having a backstory...but an evil Portal Master named Kaos threw them out from their world into our world (The Real World!) - rendered frozen as toys. It is up to the players of Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure to help them get back to their world and take back from what it once was...!

Taking place in the universe of Skyland, heroes will explore a variety of worlds, seek treasures, and confront obstacles and deadly foes and defeat Kaos, the evil Portal Master in order to save the world.

So here's the Portal of Power Whatever:

    Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure 2gvipef

Basically, you collect the toys and put them on the portal platform attached to your gaming system, and the character you got the figure of will appear on the screen and you play as him.

I know, it's mainly meant for kids since you collect the toys and put them on the portal, but I'm a huge fan of Spyro the Dragon, as a result, am trying to keep myself updated on this new video game.

Here's a few questions about this game:

What do you think of Spyro's new character design?
Do you think the game will be worth buying?
If you're buying it, what console are you getting it for?
What's your own honest opinion on the story line?

Give me your thoughts and opinions. I'd love to hear from you! ^.^ I'll keep updates coming along when I happen to come across some.

So, does the game just come with Spyro, and that's why they're calling it Spyro's Adventure?

Well, there has been a Skylanders game a long time ago (Not sure of the exact tie though) and this one is a comeback game where they use Spyro to attract more kids into buying it.

What I find odd is that it's a kid's game, but it's rated E10+. Confused

I think it's been established by now that the ESRB has no idea what it's doing anymore.

Every game with Sonic in it should automatically be rated Adults Only. Why? Children crack under such severe amounts of failure and become idiots. By the time people reach the age of 18, they can (usually) handle it.

That's the one problem is Spyro's new looks. But other than Spyro looking like a freak of nature, I think the gameplay itself looks fun.

Other than the fact that Spyro looks ready to bust a cap in your hats, this seemed intriguing:

Controlling 30 characters sounds like an interestingly difficult-to-balance offer.

The gameplay certainly looks more Spyro-y than the Legend of Spyro games, but I'm curious as to why the developers saw fit to make Spyro sound like a mutant duck.

Spyro is the definition of a series that has been warped even more than Sonic. The poor dragon. I loved the originals so much too.

Unless you're just joking around, that's not what they meant. They mean that there's 30 characters you can get and play as. You play as one at a time.

Why are so many people still hating on this game? There's finally a new Spyro game, and this is the game's treatment? What happened to maturity nowadays? -__-

Anyway, I'm gonna buy this game. So far, it looks alot better than the Legend of Spyro series.

I don't see anything I would consider immature. Most that have replied to this topic just don't agree with his redesign.
