Hardest Boss

who is the hardest sonic boss?

I'd say the last boss on Sonic 2, whatever his name was. I only was able to beat him using the SMC+ save cheat. That thing was so brutal, especially considering they didn't give you any rings at all to fight him with.

Never found any Sonic boss challenging.

Closest to come to it is Final Hazard, and that was only an annoyance.

It was more about endurance than difficulty

I had quite a time trying to beat:

-Labyrinth Zone Boss (Sonic 1)
It was a rush as the water level rises and the traps keep coming. Robotnik didn't have any weapons on his hovercraft and didn't even need them; the environment itself was out to get me.

-Robotnik with a metal arm and spikes on top (Sonic 3)
Right after a relatively easy battle with Dr. R's laser-spewing segmented rocket that flew up and down on the sides of the screen, he comes back with a fast-moving pod with a large metal arm and spikes on its top. The weak point was in the dead center of the hovercraft, and it took a while to land enough hits to finish it off.

-Final Confrontation with Shadow as Sonic (SA2)
Running at high speed on an endless highway in space, Shadow warps right in front of you, and your aim is to spin right into him as he re-appears. It takes pinpoint precision to land the attack in the center of the track.

-Sonic 2's Boss v. 2.0 (Sonic 4)
Just when I thought it was going to be a cakewalk taking down the same battle suit that Dr. R had at the end of Sonic 2, along comes a new variable in the battle: the robotic arms fall down right on top of you, and your aim is to knock them back into the battle suit to knock it down and land a few hits. By the time I figured it out, time was running out fast.

-Sonic 2's Boss as Knuckles (S2&K)
It's the same Boss as before, only this time playing as Knuckles. He can't jump as high as Sonic, so that made things even more difficult than ever. It's still possible, but at least three times harder.

Dark Gaia. It's not difficult because it's legitimately hard. It's difficult because it's just horribly designed (in both versions of the game).

Yeah, I would probably agree with that as well.

Never fought half of them, so I suppose I shouldn't vote. I think I struggled a bit with Devil Doom though.

The Biolizard. The end of it killed me so many times.

I actally thought the egg dragoon when I first fought it it was easy 12 months later I lose my a-game

Otherwise Lancelot Returns, I've never had the patience to beat him.

Now that I think about it, pretty much every boss in the Advance series required patience and strategy from me.

I think it was a boss from Unleashed. Most of the bosses from Unleashed I consider unofficial anyway...

no and no is a boss in sonic and the black knight.

I'm glad there is no Dark Queen on that list. For a Super Form boss, she was unbelievably easy. (I beat her 2nd try)

Lancelot Returns is not too hard. Took me a few tries to beat him though.

The official name for the red dragon i think is the Earth Dragon. The special challenge boss in the dragon's lair, if that's what you're talking about. Also not too hard.

I've never really beat a game before, so I don't know half of these, but believe me, the Rush Adventure bosses are so freaking hard, I gave up because I couldn't beat the first one.

I wouldn't. I managed to beat the bosses, but not before wanting to throw the game against the wall for some of them.

I voted biolizard. God damn pink bubbles...

But if it were on the list, I probably would have voted for the "boss" fight on Labyrinth Zone. I almost can't believe anyone was expected to beat that without a save state...

Besides that, most of the bosses in Sonic 3D Blast were a bit tricky at times because of the isometric view. And on a side note, I still don't see why everyone seems to hate that game so much. I actually found it pretty fun. Same with Sonic R, though to a much lesser extent.

The fifth boss, it's like a whale, is SO DAMN ANNOYING at times. The first and fourth bosses are reasonably easy, but the sixth boss is SO hard to dodge.

Those bubbles are eggs, just so you know.

I think it's mostly just because it's different and slower. But it and Sonic R are the reasons I'm here today. :D

Yeah, I forgot about those. Those got pretty frustrating.

Honestly though, of the list here, I really didn't have a problem with any of them.

Lancelot returns is easy if you level sonic enough and equip him with the right stuff...

The hardest boss in my opinion was Devil Doom -.-... I have given up on beating it a long time ago :P

And yeah, i don't remember red dragon? o_O... I know Egg Dragoon is from Unleashed, but that's already an option.
