Doesn't the Hedgehog Engine just handle graphics and lighting?

What's wrong with it? It's just general boosting, high speed gameplay with platforming and obstacles and stuff. I'd say I like it better than the Adventure style and hope it continues. I'm talking about the main Sonic gameplay they've been doing lately in Generations, Colors, and Unleashed, not the Werehog gameplay or Classic Sonic gameplay... those are just add ons.

The Havok Engine?Sonic Adventure 2 wrote:How can you even call it a hedgehog engine? It's more like the werehog engine... if it's about the daytime levels, those still were bad and all a rush.Tech Man 753 wrote: I was a fan from the Dreamcast Era and I loved the Adventure style gameplay, but I wanted something new. So the went to a different style. The Hedgehog Engine. When I first played Unleased I loved it as much as the adventure style, but now its dry as a empty sink. So I get what your saying, but they need to go on a different style.
All the Hedgehog Engine is the lighting and graphics

You misread my post. I said it was fun, but I want a different type of style. The Hedgehog Engine handles the graphics? Then what is for the game play?Link451 wrote:Sonic Adventure 2 wrote:

Re: Opinions on the supposed "New Sonic"
After reading "The Hedgehog Engine," it seems more or less insignificant in regarding the game's fun factor.

Yeah, but then that comes into play how important graphics truly are in the making of a game, and that's an unnecessary tangent to cover here.
