That is Sega's loss then. I can see those with Nintendo wanting Generations more than those on the PS3 and 360.

Sonic Generations, no doubt. It looks great and I like the 2D and 3D gameplay.

To answer the topic title's question, I would like Sonic Generations. Because what Nintendo did for Mario's anniversary was just... shameful.

Re: 20th Anniversary
Doesn't matter what Nintendo did for Mario's anniversary- they've built success throughout. If it were the same with Sonic, we wouldn't be rejoicing that we are having a "great" game this anniversary, simply because we'd have a "great" game come out yearly (as Mario fans say).
Personally, I find Mario boring, but he practically gets what's worthy of an anniversary each year. That is how successful he is. Sonic should be the same way, though he obviously isn't. This should be nothing more than a regular release for Sonic.

No, it does, because it's a momentousness occasion, they should celebrate it more than remakes that weren't fully readied.Sonic Adventure 2 wrote:Doesn't matter what Nintendo did for Mario's anniversary- they've built success throughout.

A Sonic Adventure 3(with a chao garden) would be really cool, but it's not happening. I'm fine with Generations, the gameplay looks amazing.

I don't really like the way Generations looks, but that's just me. I don't really like how they changed the wide open levels where you can play multiple characters like in SA2 to only being sonic in repetitive stages with a narrow path. They're basically reusing the same engine over and over and over... thanks a lot Sonic Unleased. While Sonic 06 did suck at least it had the right idea.

Unleashed, Colors, and Generations have that same idea though. They're just playing it safe, and with good reason. Just wait till the next Sonic game, it'll start allowing other character modes again; we just have to let Sonic Team get the experience they need.

We just need to let Sonic Team get so used to something that Reviewers like so they don't innovate beyond.
I'm sorry where was the good part in this?

I agree. I find Unleashed, Colors, and Generations to be a sad excuse to not living up to 3D potential in Sonic 06. They couldn't properly make 3D Sonic games anymore, so they made these lesser 2.5D games instead, as well as Sonic 4 which was an unneeded game.

No, first you establish the foundation, and then you build on it.Auflodern wrote:The Freedom Fighter wrote:Unleashed, Colors, and Generations have that same idea though. Re: 20th Anniversary
What's with all the negativity? Geez, I really think things have been looking good for Sonic lately with Unleashed, Sonic 4, Colors and Generations looks good too.
On topic, I think I'd like best something like Generations but with different levels. Remaking old levels isn't bad, because you're still playing new stuff, but completely new environments would be the most ideal in my opinion.

look at Activision, they have kept the exact same game engine, (Quake 3) and exact same textures for every game since Call of Duty 4, and there is no hint that they are going to change off of that engine for a while.

Yes, and they make millions of dollars with ease.Auflodern wrote:The Freedom Fighter wrote:No, first you establish the foundation, and then you build on it.Auflodern wrote:

Yes. I totally agree with Sonic 4. You can get all 4 of the prevouis games for cheaper than Sonic 4. 15$ per short part = 60$ for a possibly short game. It would be worth it if it was retail. Hoppefully they'll release it that way, only then would I buy it. Cause it doesn't look too bad, just for it's massive pricetag.

Sonic generations nthoughts
Giving all the details from TSSZ news, Sonic retro and Sonic stadium I can clerify that generations could possibly be the best Sonic game ever. And I know some of you might be sceptical about the start where thier throwing a picnic for Sonic but I don't really care about plot. I just want the entire package to be a good game.

Re: 20th Anniversary
Sonic Generations is good but Auflodern is right they need to try
a completely 3D game again even if Sonic 06 was a complete disaster.
