Personally I never played Sonic 06 so I wouldn't know to hate her or what, I'm just going by what everyone says.

I do not like Elise. I think she is too needy, and ruins Sonic 06 along with Silver, and the loading screens, etc.... But I will say this, I like her more than Chris.

I don't. She's boring and useless.

I don't mind her that much. At least she was a one-off and not a recurring character, although that's not to say that I didn't like any of the new characters of that game recurring (on the contrary, the one character who did that is my 4th favourite character!).

As for the whole thing about Sonic showing affection for a human, it's not the first time he's been shown like that.

Well, he originally would have Madonna as a girlfriend, if the concept art was to be believed. After that, he wolf-whistled at Lumina, the humanoid fairy guide, in Sonic Shuffle. Although technically after Sonic '06, he also got rather close to Shaara and Merlina, even when the latter was...oh, some people haven't played that game yet!

I don't know about anyone else, but I hate her more because she's an all-around poorly done character than the few-second-long kiss, really. It's just a game, disgusting or not, and the purpose of games are to entertain. A kiss doesn't interrupt that for me. Horrible, horrible characters do, however.
