TGN - Sonic Adventure: Role Significance

In Sonic Adventure, you were originally given 6 characters to play as, as well as Chaos, Tikal, Dr. Robotnik, Zero, Froggy, the E-series fleet, as well as the Flickies. One may argue each character had their own important role to play, so given the choice of only 1, which character would you support as having the most pivotal role to play in the entirety of the plot of Sonic Adventure, and why? 1 vote per user per character, valid reasons only.

Um..... Sonic. Duh.

Robotnik. If it wasn't for him, the game would have never had a plot.

I'd say that, with the exception of the flickies, pretty much everyone listed played an important role in the story. Not counting Gamma, only one flicky was relevant to the main plot.

I think the most important character was Amy. It wouldn't have worked without her.

It's true, Jmh. She is quite an interesting character, when you think about it.

I'm not saying she's a bad character, I just don't see how she's the most important.

It's just making a change from Sonic/ Shadow or Knuckles being the most important character. And she is integral to the plot.

Chaos. Robotnik would have been quickly defeated without him, leaving a short, and unsatisfactory plot, and in turn, game. Not to mention nearly every character revolved around Chaos' actions, most directly, and a few indirectly.

I choose Tikal because without her guidance none of the characters would make it fat as they would

But Sonic is the main character.

He's still just a pawn in Tikal's master plan

Tikal. As far as I can see, she basically drives the plot along with Chaos.

But without Sonic it wouldn't be Sonic Adventure.

Then we'll call it Chaos Attack

No one had an important role, as they are all sonic characters in all seriousness though I DID! Actually without user input the game would go no where.

Well, i'd have to say Sonic. If it wasn't for him, the whole town would have been completely destroyed and over flooded with water. =P

Chaos if he didn't exist sonic adventure will just be another sonic v.s eggman.

Chaos, as he is the main villain, and without him we wouldnt have as interesting a plot and it would have been just another Sonic VS. Eggman affair, which back in '99 would have been boring . Then Sonic, as he is the main hero and basically the savior of Station Square. Then Tikal, who guides the player the whole time. Then Knuckles.
