Seriously being depressed about it sucks, so try to think of the advantages of living in Houston. Try to meet new people, tomorrow maybe call one of your friends up or make friends with the people in your neighborhood.

@Bliz: Yours or that of a friend/family member? A digit or a limb? How far up the digit/limb was it cut off?

@Ash: For once, Bliz is right. Having something to do helps as well, even if it's something as simple as going for a walk. (Though, given your age and the amount of unruly types around where you live, I'd certainly advise against going out alone.)

I live in a pretty secure place, so I'm not afraid to take a walk. The problem is that this has been going on for about a year and I've tried taking walks before. Things just aren't working. If you can't give me any advice, I'm just going to call my phsycologist (who I didn't refer to first because she's back in Florida).

I've been in touch with my old friends, but I haven't tried calling my physiologist yet. I'm sure that will help, though. I just thought that maybe people who have experienced the same thing would have other tips as well.

When I was about your age, my mom forced me to take the text for the GT center being held at my school. I ended up getting in, but I had to say goodbye to all my friend. When the school year started, I lost touch with my friends and I met a bunch of people from other schools. I ended up hating it really hard until halfway through the year, where I met my now Best friend.

Wow. All the GT programs I've been to have really been in school and things, so I haven't really had that kind of problem--except for when in Elementary schools, I switched schools. It was really strange for me to be in such a new place, since I went from private school to public school.

@Ash: Your parents probably won't be happy about you making long distance calls, so at least ask them first. There's also the fact that your psychological care is probably no longer in the hands of that person. You'll get over it. If it starts to irk you very badly, then talk to one of your parents or friends. Getting a psychologist for problems of such minor caliber is bad. (And yes, getting a psychiatrist for such minor problems is bad as well, because he'll likely want to throw pills at the problem when you probably don't need pills. [Of course, that doesn't mean you shouldn't try one or both if things take a turn for the worse.])

My parents have been encouraging me to call her, so that won't be a problem at all. Since it's in the same country, it shouldn't even cost much, anyway. My psychologist told me to call her whenever I needed to before I left, and she gave me a book before I left--we really were friends--so it would be good to call her, actually. You may think that it will be a waste of time, and she won't care anymore, but I have a feeling she will. If I visit Florida for Spring break, though, I am planning to stop by her office and have a session with her. I've never really had to take medicines for problems, but they've gotten to be so bad at some points that I probably could've.

I never said you shouldn't try it. I said it might not end the way you want it to. That doesn't mean you shouldn't try. By all means, go for it.
