Re: Sonic Generations
Yeah, the concept is great, but it's lacking a certain execution they maintained with Green Hill, this just looks like "What if Sonic Unleashed did City Escape?" instead of a faithful recreation, that atmosphere is so bare, I don't know. It's not bad but Green Hill got my standards up.

Re: Sonic Generations
The classic levels on this one look amazing :o
The modern ones.. eh... not so much, Green Hill was better for modern sonic, like Zezima said, in my opinion xP
I hope levels aren't in chronological order
Otherwise that could mean green hill is the only classical level >.>... which I doubt is the case, since classical sonic is in there.
Either that, or Sega think everything in between isn't fun!
But we should be more optimistic :D

In that interview I could hear casino night, chemical plant... there was also a tune before that but I couldn't remember where it came from lolz

Ugh, I'm not too hyped up about this. Why City Escape? That song playing in the background is ear rape. -__-

It's not that bad...I like Escape from the City. It's sad they don't have it there.BlazePrower9205 wrote:Ugh, I'm not too hyped up about this. Why City Escape? That song playing in the background is ear rape. -__-
As for me, I'm happy with it, although Sonic skateboarding over regular boarding is odd.
Also, Rooftop Run?

Re: Sonic Generations
The problem with Sega is they say they are universal, but they really aren't. Which is why they need their own system.
To prove my point, I will mention the recent games:
-Sonic Colors (Nintendo only, exclusive for Wii and DS)
-Sonic and Secret Rings soon to be trilogy (Nintendo exclusive)
-Sonic the Hedgehog 2006 (Ps3 and XBOX, no Nintendo)
-Adventure series remakes (originally Nintendo until now)
-Rivals (PSP)
-Rush (DS)
-Generations (no Wii)
If Rush were to come out on PSP and Rivals on DS, there would be a lot more publicity and purchasing of the games. But no, Sonic Team can't do that. Why did Nintendo originally have the main Adventure series, but it couldn't have Sonic 06? Honestly, Sonic Team had no logic when releasing some of these games, and it never ceases to end. Generations should also come out on the Wii, especially geared towards a younger audience. Not everyone has 2 concoles to fully enjoy all these console specific Sonic games.
Which once again leads me to the point that Sonic needs to have its own system.

No. There are so many ways to screw that idea up it blows my mind. Especially especially considering we're talking about Sega here.Sonic Adventure 2 wrote:I'll likely get this game because it's a decent idea, however, it is once again Sega's excuse of avoiding an Adventure game with a proper storyline. A brand new adventure would be a lot better if executed correctly. This game will do no more than sum of the past years unless some new features are added.
While I want to agree, the fact is that the crack team members of the development party who crafted Sonic Adventures 1 and 2 just aren't coming back. They had a unique mixture of people with great ideas that blended well and had great balance with a compelling plot, but whatever caused them to leave is enough for them not to come back. And with Sega's current state I can understand why.
I agree with your second quote. Sonic Team is not the same anymore unfortunately. I miss Yuji Naka's days. The Adventure series (and some of the true originals) are why I love Sonic.
These new people are tearing out a heart of what once filled with passion. No longer will we once have the glory days, so I guess we have to rest with what we have unfortunately.
I will still revert back to the Adventure series come time to new games being released because SA2 was just that influential to me.
None of this garbage would have happened if Sega had their own system today. We'd actually get good Sonic games, and we still can if Sega chooses this path (I know it won't but its more or less a pipe dream).

Re: Sonic Generations
I wouldn't say tearing the heart out...
Don't forget, Naka was running the franchise into the ground and jumped off just as SNG crashed, AND that's when the franchise started picking itself in such a beautiful way. From Secret Rings to Colors, the franchise has been building the ultimate gameplay style, combining the sidescrolling with the Adventures and even Rush to form what we have for Generations. Believe me, while you may not be a fan of the new gameplay, the franchise is back.

Yeah, but Sega won't make a new console...unless they want to waste 30 seconds with bathroom games...

Re: Sonic Generations
The only reason they won't release Generations on the Wii is because it's not an HD console. I hope this means they'll release it on the Wii U. (This is also the reason 2006 wasn't on the Wii either)

Re: Sonic Generations
Although to be honest I think SNG probably could be on the Wii. Just from videos, it doesn't look like the graphics are that much beyond, and it shouldn't be too hard to get it set back into SD mode.

Well the point I was making was that Wii U has HD, so I don't see why they can't put it on that.

Yeah, the HD hounds finally got their HD. Hopefully that'll keep them quiet till the Red-Disc and the PS4 and whatever else.

If someone read this 20 years ago they'd be all kinds of confused.

Ah, oh well. Maybe it'll turn into another 2006 and I won't be missing anything. Or maybe it'll turn into another Colors and be pretty good. Whatever.

I never understood why people want this game on the Wii. It would probably be an inferior port like Sonic Unleashed was.

Re: Sonic Generations
I like the Rush style and all, but I'd rather have the original game. As for your comment on why I would want it for Wii, believe me, if I had a PS3 or 360 I wouldn't care a single bit about it not being released on the Wii.
